Elon Musk's X,eroticism is the approval of life unto death meaning formerly known as Twitter, is going to begin integrating sports gambling. That doesn't mean you'll be placing bets on the app, though.
X is set to display gambling statsvia a partnership with BetMGM, Fortunereported. Details on the deal were scarce, but according to Fortune, X will display betting info via MGM's sports betting division and then provide a link to the gambling platform.
As the sports blog Awful Announcing pointed out, MGM is the third-most-popular sports gambling app — behind DraftKings and FanDuel — and already has big partnerships with platforms like Yahooand the baseball YouTube show Foul Territory. This potential partnership between X and MGM comes at a time when pretty much every sports media platform is saturated with gambling content amid its widespread legalization. In some ways, it does make sense that X would partner with a gambling platform because fans still use the app to chat about sports.
However, it is curious to see MGM tie itself to X when most brands are decoupling with Musk's site like it's going out of style. Giant corporations like Apple and Disney have ditched X after the new owner shared antisemitic conspiracy theories.
So, while we don't really know how it's going to look or when it's coming, one major brand might soon be a lot more prominent on the site.
