Those tight-lipped Game of Thrones creators are Canada Archivesfinally ready to spill their secrets.
Announced today by HBO, Game of Thrones: The Last Watchis an upcoming documentary that aims to givefans a behind-the-scenes look at the making of Season 8, producedby the people behind it -- and the rest of the monumentally successful series.
Set to air on May 26, a week after Thrones' final episode, The Last Watch will capture in just two hours what it was like for the cast and crew of the series to bring the 8-year franchise (and all of on-screen Westeros) to an end.
The doc is headed up by acclaimed filmmaker Jeanie Finlay, who was "embedded on the set" for a year to capture what it took to create the grand finale.
Contending with "extreme weather, punishing deadlines and an ever-excited fandom," the people behind the biggest show on television faced an uphill battle when it came to delivering a hype-worthy conclusion. Whether they pull it off remains to be seen, but The Last Watchshould give viewers a good idea of what a challenge the cast and crew faced.

The Last Watchwill be the first Thrones companion project released following the series' finale. The already-in-the-works prequel has yet to be given a date a release date.
