In between Ridley Scott's original Alienmovie and eroticism on pyramidsits sequels, and the recent Prometheusprequel which doesn't really feature the creature from Alien, lies Scott's new movie, Alien: Covenant.
Not much is known about the movie, but if you're wondering whether it's more of a sequel to Prometheusor a prequel to Alien, the movie's first poster should give at least a partial answer (and scare you at the same time).

So yes, H.R. Giger's Xenomorph creature will definitely be there. As will the trio of actors from Prometheus: Michael Fassbender, Noomi Rapace and Guy Pearce.
The plot, according to the official synopsis, involves the crew of colony ship Covenant, which ends up in a "dark, dangerous world" inhabited only by David the cyborg (Fassbender) who survived the Prometheus expedition.
So, basically exactly like Alien.
The poster's simplicity also harkens back to the original movie's sparse, chilling atmosphere, and suddenly we can't wait for May next year.
