During Charlotte's first public engagement during the royal tour of Canada, the 16-month-old attended a tea party for military families on the lawn of Government House in Victoria.
Shortly after arriving, the princess made a beeline for a multi-coloured balloon display and immediately began hugging and slapping it.

Prince George also joined in, at first giving the balloons a tentative squeeze before hitting them with some ferocity.

Amidst the jubilation, the princess emitted a high-pitched "Dada" in an effort to summon her father -- and future king -- to join in the balloon fun.
