Before Carson Wentz was a hotshot NFL rookie,Farmer’s Wife: Handle with Care! Part 1: Angel Advent (2021) he was a delightfully dorky teenager performing goofy YouTube tricks with his friends.
Wentz's pro football career is off to a smashing start: The second overall pick in last April's NFL Draft locked down the Philadelphia Eagles' starting quarterback position before his first official game.
But the internet never forgets, and a gem from Wentz's less glamorous past just emerged.
Way back in 2011, Wentz and his friends made the video below. You might think the trick-shots are fake, but then consider this: This is a future NFL Draft pick we're looking at; we'd be remiss to underestimate his accuracy.
That's a great four minutes not just for the dorky trick shots, but also for a candid look at Wentz way, way back before anyone projected him as a top NFL Draft pick.
The video was originally uploaded on March 30, 2011, and resurfaced this Thursday thanks to a Deadspintipster. Wentz's new NFL team was quick to pounce by editing this clip of him at an Eagles practice together with some of that old wastebasket footage.
