Okay,The Liar (2014) now the Samsung Galaxy S8 leaks are just getting ridiculous.
We're just days away from Samsung's big reveal, so, naturally, we've pretty much seen the entire phone at this point.
Now, thanks to another intrepid leaker, we have a new batch of high-resolution photos to obsess over, but the only part we care about with this current batch is:
Why the hell is there a teddy bear emoji on the camera interface?
The leak, which comes from AndroidMX, shows various up-close shots of the Galaxy S8+ in use (and, once again, not exploding). You can see a clear look at the home screen, and what looks like just about every settings menu (in Spanish), but the real gem is the shot of the camera interface.
Click through to the seventh image in AndroidMX's slideshow and you'll the camera, complete with a barely discernible 🐻 in the right corner. No one seems to know what this is for.
This Tweet is currently unavailable. It might be loading or has been removed.
Some commenters have speculated it's so you can add stickers to your photos (it's also next to what appears to be a sketching tool). Some think the Bear is actually the symbol for Bixby (which seems unlikely), so it may be used to enable to the camera's rumored iris-scanning abilities. Maybe, but there's also an eye icon on the left side of the camera, which is most likely for the Bixby-powered visual search we've been hearing about and having twoBixby buttons on the camera seems like a little much.
But then again, Samsung is trying to make its new assistant the star of the S8, so nothing's really off the table.
What we do know is we don't have to wait much longer to find out. Samsung will finally, finally, put us out of our misery Wednesday, March, 29th, when it makes its big S8 reveal in New York.
