A sparkly new meme took over Twitter this week -- one that can Web Series Archivesbe super cute and also pretty violent. (Great!)
Basically, users create a stream of stars and sparkles using text characters, then tweet it out above an image. The idea is that the image will appear to be an extension of the sparkle text: two mediums, one picture.
SEE ALSO: Wholesome memes aren't just cute, they're subversive as h*ckUnfortunately, as Select All has already pointed out, the meme only works on certain browsers and in certain views. The tweet below, for example -- the original sparkle meme -- looks perfectly fine on desktop but makes no sense if it's embedded in an article or featured on Twitter Moments.
You have to look at a screenshot to get the full effect.
For an example that's doesn't involve death or maiming, check out this nice one of Kirby. (Original tweet here.)
And my personal favorite, this soft bird on its way to a Metallica show.
Want to make a sparkle meme of your own? You can find a nice array of characters to include here. If you're feeling particularly creative, you can also take a leaf out of this meme's book and use emoji.
Remember, though, to not include any words. Words are cancelled. We only use sparkles now.
