Du "NuckleDu" Dang officially became the first American to win the Capcom Cup tournament in Anaheim,Semi-dokyumento: Tokkun Meiki Dukuri Calif. on Saturday.
Dang, the 20-year-old Street Fighter Vpro beat 32 other players for the title, including fellow countryman and tournament runner-up Ricki Ortiz.

Favorites like Seonwoo "RZR/Infiltration" Lee and Justin Wong -- representing Korea and the U.S., respectively -- didn't even proceed past the first round of matches.

Although Japanese players have taken the crown for the last three Capcom Cup tournaments, the top players from that region filled out the back half of the tournament's top five. Ryota "Kazunoko" Inoue finished in third, Tatsuya Haitani finished in fourth, and Keita "Fuudo" Ai finished in fifth.
Dang took home the $230,000 winners share and Ortiz left with $60,000 for finishing second.
