Harry Styles fans literally cannot wait for his debut solo album,Arnold Reyes Archives coming Friday. But in all the anticipation, it looks like a lot of One Directioners have missed a key clue on Snapchat.
Along with his first solo video for the soaring "Sign of the Times," Styles released an elaborate art cover. It shows Styles standing waist-deep in water staring at a red horizon; near him are two hands submerged in water, palms up (here's a cool theory/explanation of it all):
Pretty enigmatic, isn't it?
Well, if you checked your Snapchat carousel today, the 2nd lens has a pretty heavy hint at Harry Styles' new song:
How didn't I see that?
To be fair to One Directioners, the filter is pretty esoteric, but Mashable can confirm the lens IS Harry Styles' new song.
Recently, Snapchat has emerged as a powerful distribution tool for new music. The first partnership was with Sage the Gemini, but it was with Ed Sheeran that the app showed it could really change the music industry. With an augmented reality lens, people could put on a pair of sunglasses, surround themselves in lights, and listen to the first 30 seconds of Sheeran's new track.
Now it's Harry Styles' turn.
