Oh deer. Or Oh! Deer!
Customers and The Swingin’ Stewardessesemployees were briefly terrorized after a rogue deer crashed through a window of the Aspen Cafe in St. John, Indiana, on Monday.
At approximately 7 a.m., a deer busted through one of the restaurant's windows, causing owners Bessie and Gus Karalis to investigate. Bessie initially thought the sound was a broken mirror, but she quickly realized that a confused and energetic deer was on the loose, the NWI Timesreports.
Bessie and Gus can be seen on surveillance footage heading towards the disturbance, only to find a deer heading their way.
After dodging the couple and slipping on a tile floor, the deer proceeded to exit the restaurant the same way it entered: straight through a glass window.
Via GiphyThe establishment had only opened an hour before the incident, so there were only a few customers inside, and nobody was injured in the ordeal.
Gus and Bessie's son, Nickita Karalis, helped his family board up the windows, and business resumed as usual.
“It must have smelled some good food, I’m assuming,” Nickita said.
