Apple issued a price adjustment notice to its channel partners yesterday,Uncut Archives cutting prices for all storage variants of the iPhone 16 Pro/Max series in China. Today, Apple also announced on its JD.com store that the iPhone 16 Pro/Max is receiving direct discounts of up to RMB 2,000 ($276). Notably, the 128GB iPhone 16 Pro is now eligible for China’s national subsidy program for the first time, bringing its final price down to just RMB 5,499($759). China’s nationwide smartphone purchase subsidy program launched on January 20, and will run through December 31, 2025. The initiative aims to boost consumer spending on digital devices, including smartphones, tablets, and smartwatches or computers. [IThome, in Chinese]
