Timemagazine has set Twitter abuzz with its newest cover, gentle sex video featuring a mashup of the White House topped with the features of the iconic St. Basil's Cathedral which stands in Moscow's Red Square.
The accompanying story is a deep look at the way Russia has been exploiting and manipulating social media in the U.S. and is well worth the read.
But it's the cover everyone is coming back to, a wide-open shot at an embattled President Trump and the federal investigation into his campaign's possible ties to Russia. It was done by Brobel Design, who also did the memorable Trump Oval Office windstorm cover from earlier in 2017.

Inspired by the cover animation, several Twitter users began adding soundtracks to strengthen the cover's comparison.
In one tweet, filmmaker Matthew Cherry added music from Tetris, otherwise known as a very popular Russian video game from the '80s:

That's not to say the cover went without criticism. Time faced some backlash after the cover reveal, with some users pointing out that the building mashed up with the White House was a cathedral, not the Kremlin:
about that TIME cover…

St Basil’s Cathedral isn’t really “red.”
St Basil’s isn’t “The Kremlin.”
Are we seriously doing this?
And Mad Magazineseemingly accused Timeof stealing the concept:
